the secretary of the chapter Mr. Hansel Manosour invited all the members of the group to have a week end meeting and guess what's the meeting for? we were going to have our year end activity which is a fund raising event and since the christmas is coming Christmas caroling (manaygon) is our best choice. Manaygon, is a tradition of the Chapter starts in the year 2006 to look for fund for the upcoming activities, outreaches, etc. Hope ALL of us will try this said by Lioux Lumacang, Grand Knight of Alpha, aside sa dri sad makita ang BROTHERHOOD, LEADERSHIP and SERVICE, "it is better to serve than to be served." Indeed Xmas Caroling is a very big help to the group itself, the bonding the fun and time with the brothers who shares their lovely voice and dance to the glorious homes and families in talamban.

In this activity we were so happy that we finish peacefully and also gain some experience on how to convince our voice to them and also promote bonding amongs its members. Part of this funding will be used for our Year-End/Xmas Party. Remaining parts will be used for future plans.

Congratulations to all brothers for the succesful 2-day carolling!!

The USC Alpha again promoting their GK project, this time in Barangay Mananga Riverside, Talisay City, Cebu. This Activity was part of our Memorandum of Agreement sign by ATO and other Fraternities and also the GK officials last September part of the FRAT WARS. Gawad Kalinga in partnership with APO and USC IFSC from rumbles to rubbles from paddles for shovels presents FRAT WARS

The project "aims to display that even those who seem impossible to unite can come together to battle the only enemy poverty," members of the Inter Fraternity/Sorority council of the University of San Carlos said in a statement. Dubbed as "FRATWAR; from Rumbles to Rubles" the fraternities change to "paddle for shovel" in a ceremony. The ceremony served as the formal launching of the partnership between Gawad Kalinga (GK) and the membersof the council. The project is the first ever to be initiated by the fraternities in Central VIsayas.
Representatives

The Fraternity Members start building houses today in Mananga River Side GK village, Talisay City, Cebu. The fraternities are Alpha Sigma Omega, Alpha Phi Omega, Alpha Tau Omega, Alpha Kappa Psi,Alpha Phi Upsilon, Alpha Xi Epsilon, Demolay, Delta Epsilon, Epsilon Chi Sigma, Kappa Mu Tri-Epsilon, Kappa Rho sigma, Tri-Omega, Tau Gamma Phi, Tau Kappa Phi Upsilon, Sigma Phi, Sigma Alpha Epsilon andXI service Organization.

Fraternity officials and representatives lamented yesterday the stereotyping of fratenities aas "menace of society." They appealed to the public to also appreciate the good side of the organization. GK provincial coornator Danilo Lagahid during the ceremony yesterday said he is very privileged to beworking with the fraternity members. Lagahid, who a described the volunteers as "mga bag-ong bayani", said the laudable task of the fraternity members is just " a beginning of visibly exhibitating their faith"and effort to help building not just a house but a home. The USC Alpha Chapter once again promoting of their GawaD Kalinga Activity last August 19, 2007 in Barangay Budlaan,Cebu City. The young bloods of ATO continues the tradition of the mother chapter to help the homeless people to build their homes with the GK volunteers. The USC ALPHA proudly presents the only fraternity organization to have a booth in the lobby at the opening of the prestigious DAYON '07. At first we congratulate our fellow Brothers Jerry Johnson Ong and Michael Fabe Belarmino all from the college of Engineering for winning the Supreme Student's Council Councilors. In the opening day our booth help us to convince and also to advertise to the new carolinians who wish to be part of our organization .
